Flexible Grouping/Seating
Intervention
Flexible seating and grouping in your classroom incorporates multiple different types of seating such as beanbags, bungee chairs, rocker chairs, cushions, wobble chairs ect.
Studies have shown allowing choice for alternative seating options has positive effects on students motivation and engagement, and academic achievement (Allen,C. 2018).

Builds classroom community by allowing students to choose where they want to sit and interact with different peers throughout the school day.
How to use Intervention
Allow students to choose where they would like to sit in the room throughout the school day
Ensure that students are aware that where they decide to sit and do work that work needs to get done.
If a student Is having difficulty sitting in a desk try having them sit somewhere else in the classroom where they might be more comfortable and more ready to focus.
