Non-Verbal Cues

Intervention


Non-verbal cues are used to signal to a student without disturbing the whole classroom, it is discreet and quick and makes students more comfortable and more likely to participate in the classroom.



Direct application to Tier 3

  • Non-verbal cues can be used for all students in the classroom but can also be personalized to fit a certain student and their particular situation.

  • Can be used when a student is not participating in class or being very unproductive.


How to use Intervention

  • Meet with a student to identify how you will communicate with each other in a special way.

  • Have the student decide what sign they would want to use

  • practice using these signs with your student.
