Icebreakers



Intervention

  • A simple activity that allows teachers to get to know their students and for students to get to know about their teachers and classmates

  • Involves the whole classroom community

  • Activities are short and fun

Direct Application to Tier 1

  • All students can participate

  • Increases students knowledge about each other

  • Creates relationships between students, classmates, and teachers

  • When there are strong relationships with students they are more comfortable in the classroom


How to use Intervention

  • Can use it on the first day of school

  • Can use this in your morning meetings the first month of school

  • Use as a warm up exercise in your mornings

  • An example of an ice breaker is asking

    • What is your favorite hobby?

    • What do you do in your free time?

    • Do you have any brothers or sisters?

    • What is something new or exciting happening in your lives?
